Registered Teacher Criteria workshops

The NZ Teachers Council will be hosting a series of workshops nationally from May - September 2010 to help professional leaders and others successfully implement the new Registered Teacher Criteria with their teachers.

We are seeking enrolments from professional leaders or the person in an institution who is mainly responsible for registration of provisional and experienced teachers. You will be given opportunities to workshop materials to support professional development of colleagues in implementing the new criteria which replace the Satisfactory Teacher Dimensions from 2011 for most teachers.

We are also inviting enrolments from advisors who have a role in supporting schools and early childhood education services to apply the criteria for registration, appraisal or induction and mentoring of provisionally registered teachers.

We initially asked for only one enrolment per institution, however this restriction has been lifted and an extra person from each institution is now welcome. This is explained more fully in the latest update on the workshops.

If you are interested in attending, please email your name, sector and the number/location of the workshop to Alastair.mclean@teacherscouncil.govt.nz. Detailed information about the venues and times will be sent following enrolment. Note that some workshops are already quite full so some sessions may not be open for additional enrollments.

While every effort will be made to follow this schedule, some dates may vary due to venue availability and numbers attending. Attendees will be informed of any changes as soon as they occur via email
