The New Zealand Teachers Council produces occasional papers on a variety of topics. These are often related to larger projects and where appropriate the links below will refer you to those. The papers are listed below in reverse order of publication.

In 2006 the Council conducted a telephone survey of a sample of kura kaupapa Māori to investigate issues relating to registration. This report details the key themes to arise from the interviews, and also outlines work conducted by the Council since 2006 relating to the issues identified in the paper.

This paper describes the purposes and nature of the standards developed or under development by the New Zealand Teachers Council in 2006, and the processes used for their development. It distinguishes between the standards developed by the Council, and other standards in New Zealand, such as those agreed by the teacher unions with the Ministry of Education.
