New Zealand Teachers Council Policies, Requirements and Guidelines

 

The New Zealand Teachers Council has adopted the following policies, requirements and guidelines which underpin its core functions in support of the teaching profession:

Code of Ethics:

Induction and mentoring of provisionally registered teachers:

• Guidelines for Induction and Mentoring and Mentor Teachers

Registration:

• Good Character and Fit to be a Teacher Policy
• Language Requirements for teaching in Aotearoa New Zealand
• Registered Teacher Criteria (RTC)
• Satisfactory Teacher Dimensions (STDs)
• Limited Authority to Teach (LAT) Policy

Conduct and competence:

• Rules for Conduct and Competence and Mandatory Reporting

Approval of settings outside the general education system for gaining and maintaining registration:

• Approval of Settings outside the general education system for Gaining Full Registration
• Approval of Settings outside the general education system for Maintaining Full Registration
• List of currently approved Settings outside the general education system for Gaining/Maintaining Full Registration
