Processing time
Our standard processing time is 4-6 weeks.
This processing time can vary depending on factors such as the promptness with which information is received, the assessment of overseas qualifications by the New Zealand Qualifications Authority (NZQA), the time taken for New Zealand Police to process a police vet (Disclosure of Information form) and the date of the next Council meeting.
Applications are approved once all the requirements have been met. Upon approval of an application the Online Register is updated also. The Online Register runs in real time and can be accessed by members of the general public as well as teachers and professional leaders.
Applications that are to be considered by the Council are scheduled accordingly and we communicate with the applicant. There is no Council meeting in January.
Full payment of the associated application fee is required upon receipt of the application form.
