Consultation on Requirements for Registration as a Teacher
During October/November 2009, the Council sought feedback on possible changes to requirements for teacher registraton. This followed the Council's analysis of issues and regional meetings held with professional leaders earlier in the year. Feedback was sought on the following:
- Teaching and learning environment for Provisionally Registered Teachers (PRTs)
- Duration of provisional registration
- Definition of a ‘teaching position'
- Definition of ‘recent teaching experience'
- Introduction of a proposed new registration framework.
The Council would like to thank those who filled in a response to this consultation. Your feedback is currently being analysed and will contribute to further development of a registration policy.
