CONSULTATION ON THE REQUIREMENTS AND APPROVAL PROCESSES FOR INITIAL TEACHER EDUCATION (ITE) PROGRAMMES
This is the first time the New Zealand Teachers Council has provided the opportunity for you, as valued members of the profession, to provide feedback on the requirements and processes for the approval, continuing approval and monitoring of ITE programmes.
The overall aims of the review are to increase the effectiveness of the approval and monitoring processes and to strengthen the quality of graduates entering the profession.
The Council invites you and your colleagues to discuss the statements and questions in the consultation document on the requirements for programmes of ITE and the processes by which the Council approves these programmes in the tertiary sector. We welcome your feedback.

The return date for responses is Friday 30 October 2009. You can either:
complete the form and post it to the NZ Teachers Council, Box 5326, Wellington 6145; or
