World Teachers' Day 30 October 2009

Ako Mai, Ako Atu | Teach-Learn-Teach Conference

In celebration of World Teachers Day, the Teachers Council will host a one-day conference to examine the new Registered Teacher Criteria (RTC) and ideas for their successful use and implementation.

The keynote address for the day will be a presentation by the University of Canterbury Education Plus team on their pilot programme to trial the RTC in schools and early childhood centres.

Following the keynote address there will be opportunities to workshop and explore the draft Registered Teacher Criteria in more detail, and to discuss issues around their successful use and implementation.

Registration

Invitations to the conference have been widely disseminated so spaces will fill up quickly. If you are interested in attending please fill in the invitation form below. Numbers are limited so RSVPs will be confirmed after 16 October depending on available space.

Parking

There are a range of parking options in Wellington. They vary in terms of rate and accessibility, from well organised parking buildings to on street metered parking. On the whole, buildings work out to be cheaper than meters for long term parking and most have an all-day parking rate. To qualify for the all-day rate drivers must be parked before 9:30am in most buildings. In streets just outside the CBD the Wellington city council operates an all day parking coupon system which works out to be relatively inexpensive.
